I recently announced in my Facebook Page that I recently bought this daily devotional, entitled Jesus Calling. It was written in such a way that it was as if Jesus Himself was talking to you. Born from the author’s conversations with God each day for 364 days. I pray that I can make this a daily thing. With God beside me, I’m sure I will be able to do it.
This was the title of today’s devotion in the new book I recently bought.
“Softly, I announce my Presence.”
Verses: Psalm 46:1, Romans 12:12, Romans 15:13
“Even when I have all the power in the Heaven and Earth, I am infinitely tender with you.”
He taps us gently in the shoulder of our consciousness saying, “My dear son, my dear daughter, I am here. There is no need to worry. Hush that crying, ‘Daddy’ is here.” Then He carries us, or holds our hand, then we would walk together.
“The weaker you are, the more gently I approach you. Let your weakness be a door to My Presence. Whenever you feel inadequate, remember, that I am the ever-present help.“ (excerpts from the book paraphrasing Psalm 46:1)
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Can you hear God tell you this right now? It’s a beautiful assurance of God’s love and grace. The weaker we are, the more we are welcomed to come to Him. The more down, the more depressed we are, the more He encourages us to come to Him. Weakness is not a bad thing, when it comes to our relationship with God. Weakness leads to dependence, and God wants our dependence. He wants us to rely on Him. To surrender all, for His purpose. Our Father knows best.
I have been away from You for too long Father, and these revelations are all too perfect. You are perfect God. Right now, God. I surrender. I surrender everything to you. Just as this song goes: “All to you I surrender, All of my dreams, All of me.” I want nothing else than to be back into your presence Lord.
“Hope in Me, and you will be protected from depression and self-pity. Hope is like a golden cord connecting you to heaven. The more you cling to this cord, the more I bear the weight of your burdens; thus, you are lightened. Heaviness is not of My kingdom. Cling to hope, and My rays of Light will reach you through the darkness.”
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
There is hope in God, even through the darkest of time. All we have to do is “cling to the cord to heaven”, and God will bear the weight of our burdens. We will not fall. He will carry us through.
Personally, I have a tendency of running away when things get too hard. And often, I find myself running away from God when I find myself in pressing, frustrating or depressing situations. I stumble a lot, in this walk with God. What I failed to realize is that’s okay. God doesn’t mind if we always trip and fall, as we walk with Him. That’s what He’s here for. He wants us to hold His hand and walk with Him. And yet sometimes, we want to be that little kid who feels a bit adventurous and wanders on too far ahead and trips and scrapes his knee.
Even then, or no matter how many times you want to run off ahead, He would still pick us up, hold our hand, gently remind us to hold His hand tightly, and carry on.
Father, today, I surrender myself once more. I surrender everything. All of my works. My studies. My everyday life. Convict me once more with the passion for Your Word and Your Works. I love you, God. And I pray that you convict each one of my family members and my brother and sisters to pick up and reach their bibles too. I pray that you convict those who feel as though all hope is lost. Hope is in YOU, Father. Hope is indeed in YOU. I pray for those who are depressed, those who feel insignificant, those who feel as though they have no purpose in this world. Show then Your Love and Your Grace, Father. Show them that they will understand how You see them through Your eyes, and not through the eyes of this world. Today, God, I surrender. I surrender everything about me. With my brothers and sisters in Christ who might as well be reading this today. I surrender. We surrender, once more, our lives to Your Will and Your Cause. In Christ, we pray. Amen.
